This started out as just playing around to see what would happen. I created this in about 2 hours last night and went to bed. I didn’t sleep very well and I woke up this morning and was in the shower thinking about this piece. You see, when I stopped working last night, it was in the state you see except for the 3 small pelicans. Only the big one in the middle was there. This morning I was thinking I liked the piece but I didn’t feel the moon and the single pelican were strong enough to hold the piece up on their own. I remembered that I had taken some photos of pelicans both on a trip to New Orleans about 12 years ago and also when I was at the Texas Coast more recently.
I went and started searching through the old photos until I found these 3. One is from the NOLA trip and the other two are from Texas. I added these three elements, played with the blend modes a little bit and the result is what you see here. I like this much better now!
