Hello and meet Cooper. Cooper was a dachshund I had for several years. I had him and an Akita named Woody. I actually started one of my first blogs as a kind of comedy thing of conversations I had with Cooper and Woody. He was a blast. He loved to play ball (not by himself) and you couldn’t get him to stop. He would bring the ball and it it took you more than 5 secs to react he would headbutt you in the shin really hard! He was hilarious. But human relationships don’t always work out so Cooper went to live elsewhere.
Cooper passed away today. He was 25 days shy of his 18th birthday. He lived a long and fun life in a place where he was constantly surrounded by love and I couldn’t have wished him any better. I wanted to do a picture of him but I didn’t really have good ones so this one took some work. I removed the background which is just Texas-dried mud and put a nice little set of several textures mixed together. I didn’t want anything to take any attention away from him. Several hours of tweaking and several passes through Topaz and this is where I ended up. I was trying to make it look like a painting which if you look closely you can see some odd-looking brush strokes. I would love to think that he would have liked it, but I’m sure he would rather just play ball. I’ll miss you, Coop…
Thank you for such a lovely post about Cooper. He will be missed.
My pleasure. He was one of a kind!
