I’m sorry I haven’t posted since Sunday but I’ve been working on something that has taken me a while. I fought with this for several days in several different forms. My friend Joyce loves anything zebra related so I wanted to try to do something centered on zebras and believe me it took me a while to get somewhere I liked.
I started with the brilliant idea of doing Noah’s Ark with nothing but Zebras on it. When I got done extracting, reshaping, and placing about 5 (out of several hundred) zebras, and decided this was a bit more work than I wanted to take on. I changed my direction and decided I wanted to do a weird little piece with a zebra with a little hat made of flowers with maybe some butterflies or birds perched on top. I didn’t like the way that was going so I changed it to the flower hat with little miniature zebras on it but that wasn’t working for me either. Oddly though the background and the trees above were in that one and I really liked it.
So I cranked up some Black Crowes, scrapped everything except that background and trees, started extracting zebras and placing them to make it look like they were relaxing in some rare shade on the savannah. It’s not perfect, but I am pretty happy with the way it turned out and it was a blast to work on.
