Project 52 – Week 24 – “Peaceful Harbor”

–Good morning and welcome to Week 24! My new piece is called “Peaceful Harbor” and its from a picture I took down one the Texas Coast. This one is not as “compisitey” (I made a new word!) as most of my pictures. The only real foreign element. other than textures is the sky. This shot was taken in broad daylight with tons of sun and no clouds but I wanted a sunset, “end of the day” vibe so I darkened everything, changed out the sky, added the lights being on and shining. The rest is just Photoshop and Topaz tweaking.

The other thing I will mention is I am scheduling this post about a week out. I’m having cataract surgery on my left eye on August 10th and was not sure I would be in shape to create a piece that weekend. Its actually going to be quite a challenge for a few weeks because I wear very strong glasses and the cataract surgery will partially correct my vision in the left eye. The problem then becomes that the left eye can’t see with glasses and the right eye can’t see without them! I’ll be getting the right eye done in a few weeks so I have a matching set but until then, who know what my work is going to look like! Turn in for the insanity!
