I’m almost halfway through Project 52. I’ve really had a blast, but my creativity has been waning a bit. This week I’m back to a more traditional composite. This started with a photograph I took at Padre Island in South Texas that was just a plain beach scene with a little structure in the middle. Because of the angle I took the photograph, there was very little sky showing and it wasn’t pleasing, so I just made the gulf a little longer to fill up the frame. All the birds were also from Padre Island but from different trips. I added the model and some texture of course.
The composite is actually quite large. The raw photo here was half the size of the original. I probably could have taken it down to 33% to make it even smaller, but it loses a little detail the smaller I make it so I decided to stick with half.
