Cooper was a dachshund I had for several years.  I had him and an Akita named Woody.  I actually started one of my first blogs as a kind of comedy thing of conversations I had with Cooper and Woody.  He was a blast.  He loved to play ball (not by himself) and you couldn&#8217;t get him to stop.  He would bring the ball and it it took you more than 5 secs to react he would headbutt you in the shin really hard!  He was hilarious.  But human relationships don&#8217;t always work out so Cooper went to live elsewhere. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cooper passed away today.  He was 25 days shy of his 18th birthday.  He lived a long and fun life in a place where he was constantly surrounded by love and I couldn&#8217;t have wished him any better.  I wanted to do a picture of him but I didn&#8217;t really have good ones so this one took some work.  I removed the background which is just Texas-dried mud and put a nice little set of several textures mixed together.  I didn&#8217;t want anything to take any attention away from him.  Several hours of tweaking and several passes through Topaz and this is where I ended up.  I was trying to make it look like a painting which if you look closely you can see some odd-looking brush strokes.  I would love to think that he would have liked it, but I&#8217;m sure he would rather just play ball.
