Ella, my greyhound pup that got bit in the eye, developed severe seizures starting at about 11 last night and continuing right through to this evening. She had these seizures about every 30 to 45 minutes. I sat up with her all night and took her to the vet first thing this morning. All blood tests were normal so it was either going to be epilepsy or brain tumor. Epilepsy drugs had no effect, so she had to be put down this evening. I miss her terribly.
We have a male pug- “Earl”. We had a female pug- “Dixie”. She developed seizures and for a time the medicine worked, but then they came back and she passed very quickly. You have my sincere condolences.
It was scary how fast it happened. 11:00 Tuesday night was the first one and they came every 20-60 minutes after that. She couldn’t stand. I think her body just couldn’t take the seizing. They were very physically taxing and lasted a long time. When the epilepsy meds didn’t work, I just couldn’t see her suffer any more. It broke my heart.

I’m sorry for your loss, Lans. Every time this happens to me I swear I will not get another dog, then I always do.

Yeah, it was really tough when we lost Dixie. I get too attached. I don’t see them as pets, more like family.
