Went on a quick exceursion to downtown San Antonio today with my wife and kids.? Our main destination (other than sushi at China Latina) was the grounds of that hallowed institution, the Alamo.? I snapped some pictures during our all too brief visit.
The old legend herself.? I cropped out the bottom part because of silly looking tourists wandering around.? I really wanted the sky, the shape of the Alamo, and to try to keep the flag that was waving on the left in the picture.
Here we have the Famous Alamo Bitching Bird. I snapped him next to a shade tree outside the Alamo.? Truth be told he was quite quiet.? I just happened to catch him with his beak open and now have given him this moniker for which he will be world famous and eternally grateful to me.
And we come to my favorite.? This is a bowl on a fountain in the middle of a three way intersection behind the alamo.? The stones actually color is what I call Texas Tan, which most stone around here is.? But I thought it needed to be cooled off a little bit since everything is so hot outside so I tweaked with the color hue to bring it down to this light turquoise.? I like the way it turned out.
