Happy Thanksgiving to all! There is a new book out that I want to get called “No One Cares What You Had For Lunch: 100 Ideas for Your Blog”, but since I haven’t read the book and since it’s Thanksgiving, I’m going to break this rule and show you some lunch!
Here it’s prep time:

Beat those yams!

Cheese and Bean Casserole:

Cajun Sausage Dressing:

Da Bird:

I put one of the leaves in the table so the table cloth would fit better. It’s a bit of overkill though. I mean, 10 ft for 4 people is a bit much. But it did make the tablecloth not drag as much. Here is the south end:

And the North end:

Well, that’s it! Thanksgiving is but a memory and I have broken the golden rule of blogging. But, I had fun, so that’s that!!

Even though I am VERY under the weather, I am making Thanksgiving food tomorrow. I have been doing prep work slowly today. I cut up all the celery and onions (boy, that one was uncomfortable) and made the cornbread for my Cajun Sausage Stuffing:

Of course I made it in the old family iron skillet. If you have never cooked with iron cookware, there is no substitute. I would really like to try my hand at the outdoor iron dutch oven cooking. I think I would be fairly good at it.
Additional elements for Thanksgiving tomorrow are:
Turkey (of course)
Texas Sweet Cream Corn
Candied Yams
Bean, Pea and Mushroom Casserole
Rolls
Assorted Pies
I plan to take some more photos during the cooking process tomorrow.
